We've reached another potential milestone in the year of Channing Tatum. Having already punched faces in "Haywire" and melted hearts in "The Vow," he's set to punch more faces in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and melt more… somethings in "Magic Mike" in just a few weeks. Now, add another upcoming credit to the pile — one [...]

By Rya Backer Childish Gambino was something of a brass ring for First Date. There was a point when I was so desperate to be face to face with the multi-talented star that I took to annoying an intern at the time (HI, TRAVIS!) who once performed with him at the Long Island City venue [...]

Giving viewers something exciting to wake up to, Carrie Underwood had an amazing live performance on “Good Morning America” today (May 1).

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” country chick took the stage in New York City’s Times Square to celebrate the release of her brand new album Blown Away.

Underwood’s first single off the album “Good Girl” seems to have struck a chord with female fans, and in a recent interview she explained how she felt recording the track.

“It's such a fun, rocking song. I was lucky enough to be in the room and be a co-writer on the song. It was just all about having fun and showing some attitude. We, as ladies, have a lot of layers to us. We definitely have our good sides and our bad sides. (laughs) So it was fun to kind of play off of that.”

As for her decision to take some time off before recording Blown Away, Carrie explained, “I felt a little bit like I was on a hamster wheel. So many artists get caught up living their life between a tour bus and a recording studio. I had three albums come out in October or November every other year, and I just didn't want to do things the same way. It wasn't so much that I thought [doing that again] would be a bad thing, but I'm the kind of person who needs to switch things up and try new things and shake it up. Things end up better when they're on the fly and a little unexpected. Everybody is on the edge of their seat, and they're ready for anything. So I changed the way I wrote. I changed the way I recorded, and I took a little time to miss it and, hopefully, for people to miss me a little, as well.”

A grinning Maria Menounos had reason to celebrate on Monday night’s (April 30) episode of “Dancing with the Stars” - as she and partner Derek Hough received a perfect score.

They are the first couple to get the top digits out of this season’s dancing ensembles, with the lofty mark doted unto them for their performance of a paso doble to Prokofiev‘s “Montagues and Capulets.”

The occasionally stern judges loved what they saw, as Carrie Ann Inaba said, “That was amazing. You were so on fire,” while Len Goodman added, “I loved it, fantastic!”

The welcomed compliments for Menounos and Hough were capped off with Bruno Tonioli saying that Maria was “the queen of the night,” continuing with the praise by dubbing her dancing as “spellbinding.”

Breaking from her motherly duties to tend to her lucrative career endeavors, Gwen Stefani was spotted heading into a local studio in Santa Monica, California earlier this afternoon (April 30).

Donning a striped shirt along with a hot pink lip, the 42-year-old performer tweeted of her recent music-making outings, “Studio at the end of the race - take 2 'Psycho' gx” and “Singing - send me vibes gx”.

In other career news, a source recently revealed to the New York Post that Miss Stefani may be replacing Steve Jones as the new host on the American version of "The X-Factor,"

Claiming that Simon Cowell is willing to spend up to $7 million for her, the insider added, "[Cowell] is feeling the pressure and knows only a big-time, well-respected name will do if he wants anyone to flip the channel from The Voice."

The “Hollaback Girl” singer previously stated that she would not like a judging position because she doesn’t like confrontations, but she does have a background in the world of reality competition programs after having been a mentor on the hit show “American Idol.”

'If you like us despite it or because of it, then we're happy,' Jay McGuiness tells MTV News of boy-band label.

It's not always easy being in a boy band. There are a lot of preconceptions for the five guys who choose to sing catchy pop tunes and dance in formation for a living.

Given that boy bands have come in and out of fashion once every decade for the last few years, it should come as no surprise that we are knee-deep in a brand-new boy-band bonanza. This one is being led by this generation's 'NSYNC and Backstreet Boys: One Direction and the Wanted.

When MTV News sat down with the Wanted to premiere their "Chasing the Sun" video, they chatted a bit about being labeled a "boy band."

"Eventually, we were, like, over it," Jay McGuiness explained. "If you like us despite it or because of it, then we're happy."

Well, something is working for the guys. Their lead U.S. single, "Glad You Came," has topped the charts, and they are once again getting people dancing with "Chasing the Sun," from their just-released debut U.S. EP. It's a good time to be in a boy band, thanks to all the love out there for them. And it's an even better time to be in the Wanted.

It seems that their success might have a lot to do with the way they've approached their boy-band career thus far. "We went out there and we're like, 'You know what? I think we can change people's perspectives of the '90s boy bands,' " Tom Parker explained. "And that was our aim: just to make good music."

Voting in round two of MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands runs until noon ET on Monday, April 30. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite band made the cut, make sure you keep voting. Tune in to AMTV and MTV Hits for their boy-band video takeovers each day and make sure to spread the word on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB and like us on Facebook for updates!

Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Battle of the Boy Bands interactive bracket!

Seoul, South Korea, set list heavy on new material, but Gaga's biggest hits come out to play.

Lady Gaga kicked off her hotly awaited Born This Way Ball at Seoul, South Korea's Olympic Stadium on Friday (April 27) in front of 45,000 fans, and despite protests from Christian groups saying Mother Monster was "obscene" and could "taint" young people with her performance, the concert appears to have gone on without incident.

Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the BTW Ball's enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.

While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to elevate the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga's tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show — which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly — was considered unsuitable for children under 18.

The likely catalyst for the board's decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group covered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of "spreading unhealthy sexual culture" through "lewd lyrics and performances."

The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she tweeted her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn't), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga's most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.

Before the show, Gaga tweeted, "I can you hear you Korea. I'm shaking."

Gaga's performance was heavy on material from her Born this Way album, though her biggest hits, including "Bad Romance," Poker Face" and "Just Dance," were represented.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball set list:

» "Highway Unicorn"
» "Government Hooker"
» "Born This Way"
» "Bloody Mary"
» "Bad Romance"
» "Fashion of His Love"
» "The Queen"
» "Just Dance"
» "Love Game"
» "Telephone"
» "Just Dance"
» "Heavy Metal Lover"
» "Bad Kids"
» "Hair"
» "Yoü and I"
» "Electric Chapel"
» "Americano"
» "Poker Face"
» "Scheiße"
» "The Edge of Glory"
» "Marry the Night"
